Actor Ermin Sijamija appointed acting director of the National Theatre Sarajevo

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton gave its consent at today's session for the appointment of actor Ermin Sijamija as acting director of the National Theatre Sarajevo.

This appointment is largely due to the Trade Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science and Culture of BiH - Cantonal Board Sarajevo, and especially its vice-president Adnan Đindo.

"In moments when it was a matter of days before a complete blockade of one of the most important cultural institutions in BiH would occur, the Trade Union, through its continuous and persistent action towards the most responsible – the Management Board of the National Theatre Sarajevo, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and finally the KS Government, offered precise steps in resolving this crisis, which the responsible parties ultimately fulfilled.

We congratulate the newly appointed acting director with the wish that the National Theatre in Sarajevo continues to be the flagship of culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Trade Union stated.
