SDP Main Board: Further disintegration of the state is not possible

At today's session of the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, which began with a minute of silence for the recently deceased prominent SDP members Sabrija Pojskić and Ivan Brigić, the verified refined text of the SDP BiH Statute was adopted, information on the work of the SDP BiH Presidency in the previous period was adopted, and the Proposal of the decision on membership fees, and members were also presented with an information system for future party membership records.

At the initiative of the SDP BiH president Nermin Nikšić, the agenda of the session also included a vote on the open letter from SDP BiH members from a recent gathering in Lukavac.

After the discussion on this agenda item, which included more than 30 speakers, the Main Board adopted conclusions tasking the SDP BiH Presidency to respond to this open letter as soon as possible. After that, a session of the Presidency will be organized, to which members of the bodies and representatives of SDP BiH who are signatories of this letter will be invited.

Finally, a conclusion was reached that the decisions of the Third Extraordinary Congress must not be violated and that, until the regular Congress scheduled for October this year, they are binding for all party bodies.

The new parliamentary majority was once again asked to finally show seriousness in forming the government, as it is evident that all announced deadlines in this regard have long been missed. The urgent establishment of the government is even more necessary because the absence of a government also threatens the new initiative of the European Union towards BiH and the Declaration on the European path of our country.

SDP BiH officials in the executive government at the federal level have performed their duties in accordance with the laws and the Constitution of the FBiH over the past four years. Therefore, if a new government is not formed by March 31, or if the FBiH budget for 2015 is not adopted, the Main Board has concluded that SDP BiH officials will leave all positions in the FBiH executive government. 

Regarding the declaration adopted today by the Croatian National Assembly on the possible federal organization of BiH in the form of four federal units, members of the SDP BiH Main Board reiterated the long-standing position of the SDP BiH that further disintegration of the state is not possible and that BiH will always be a common state of all its citizens and peoples.

In line with this, members of the Main Board congratulated the citizens of BiH on Independence Day, which is one of the most important dates in its history and the foundation of today's modern and sovereign BiH.
