Ginkel with Hasičević: American companies ready to deliver high-quality fuel and replenish storage in BiH

(Patria) - Protecting consumers in BiH from global fuel price volatility was the focus of today's meeting between Chargé d'Affaires John Ginkel and Federal Minister of Trade Amir Hasičević, the U.S. Embassy announced on platform X.

Chargé d'Affaires Ginkel welcomed the efforts of the FBiH Government to adopt an initiative requesting the BiH Council of Ministers to temporarily abolish customs duties on oil imports from countries that are not EU or CEFTA members.

That initiative, further stated in the Embassy's announcement, would diversify BiH's oil sources, ensure greater security and stability of supply, and reduce price volatility that consumers feel at the pumps.

"The United States is the world's largest oil producer, and American companies are ready to deliver high-quality fuel and replenish storage in BiH if customs duties are abolished," the announcement adds.
