Genocide in Srebrenica, Part Two

When the highest judicial body issues a verdict that a crime has been committed, and you deny that verdict and form your own "commission" to establish the "truth" that suits you (because you do not recognize the already issued verdict), what are you expressing by doing so?

1. The Government of Republika Srpska, which has formed two so-called Independent International Commissions for the Investigation of War Events in Sarajevo and in the "Srebrenica region," by this move denies the verdict of the highest judicial body in the world (the one formed by the United Nations Security Council). This is a dramatic blow to the international legal order, but it is, at the same time, an international diplomatic and political diversion of the highest order. Will the so-called international community also diligently remain silent about this?!

2. From this fact of not recognizing the verdict of the highest judicial body on the genocide in Srebrenica, it logically follows that such a terrible crime as genocide is amnestied, and not only that – it is support for the crime and an unambiguous recognition of readiness for it to be repeated (incidentally, the institutions of Republika Srpska have decorated the main protagonists of the genocide in Srebrenica, which is very indicative of their attitude towards that crime).

3. Such commissions are not formed to confirm the already issued verdict on Srebrenica '95, but to reach opposite conclusions. Isn't that logical? This means – and this is also so clear – that these are COMMISSIONED results of the alleged research by the two commissions. In the context of everything, it is quite clear what their "findings" will be.

4. According to the verdict of the International Court, the genocide in Srebrenica was committed by the INSTITUTIONS OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA – its Army and Police, from which it clearly follows that this Republika Srpska is built, institutionally, on genocide, and now it strives – also institutionally – to deny that genocide, and any denial of a crime is an expression of readiness for its repetition.

5. A special problem is that the Government is attacking the international LEGAL SYSTEM; it is a kind of political paganism in which, by the will of politics, not only are proven mass genocidal crimes not recognized, but there is a desire to carry out a "political execution" of the highest international legal body that established that genocide.

6. It is particularly interesting – in fact, shocking – that the heads of both commissions are people from the Jewish people (one of them is, as stated in the official explanation of the Government, an "expert in the field of the history of radical Islamism"). And this, along with all of the above, is a terrible paradox: the leaders of both commissions, by agreeing to be in that position, do not recognize the verdict of the international court on the genocide in Srebrenica, and they are precisely people from the nation that was subjected to the Holocaust. Expressing reverence for the Holocaust, I must say that this fact about the leaders of the two commissions is undoubtedly a moral destruction, a defamation of the Holocaust precisely by those who were subjected to it.

This is the perfection of horror in our seriously disturbed world. However, the most responsible are not those who committed the crime, but those who saw it, who knew it was being prepared and now know it has been committed, and did not prevent it nor are they preventing its later denial. This is paving the way for new mass crimes, for genocides, not only at the local but also at the global level.
