Gavrankapetanović: It would not be good for Bosnia and Herzegovina if Sebija becomes a member of the Presidency

Former head of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS), Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović, was a guest on the Central News with Senad Hadžifejzović on FACE TV, reports the Patria agency.

Professor Gavrankapetanović spoke about the catastrophic situation at KCUS. He said that all those who decide to raise their voices against things that do not function automatically face problems with the director of KCUS, Sebija Izetbegović.

- I do not want to agree to be driven away from the clinic and the country whenever someone takes it into their head. There is no chance of that - said Dr. Gavrankapetanović.

He said that the attack on him began as soon as Director Izetbegović took over KCUS, after which he was removed from the Scientific Research Team.

He also said that in other countries around the world, the wives of presidents and highest state officials, during the term of their husbands, do not hold the most important positions in the country, because that simply does not go hand in hand, but rather engage in humanitarian and similar work.

Professor Gavrankapetanović recounted how he also went to the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, and informed him of the problems prevailing at KCUS, after receiving such advice from Reis Husein ef. Kavazović.

After the meeting with Izetbegović, Dr. Gavrankapetanović said that he scheduled a meeting with Director Izetbegović, at which he told her that it was not right to intimidate people.

- I went to America, and when I returned, Dr. Biščević, my colleague and friend, told me that everything was ready for him to take my place. He did not agree to that, thereby showing how honorable and honest he is - recounted Gavrankapetanović, adding that the goal was "to bring him down" and to file a criminal complaint against him.

Dr. Gavrankapetanović recounted how Dr. Đemil Omerović, the current head of the Orthopedics Clinic, came to his office and informed him that he would have to withdraw his signature of support because he had received direct threats from Dr. Izetbegović that he would lose the contract that his private pharmacy Verdant has with the hospital. He said that this involves a large amount of money.

Dr. Gavrankapetanović recounted how in 2003, the late Alija Izetbegović requested to be treated exclusively by him, which he did.

He also announced that a book about all of this that is happening to him will be published.

- I love to write a lot. I am currently writing a book, Through Time, in which I will describe everything I am going through, relationships, human characters, my childhood...

- I have had enough of false stories about fake master's degrees and doctorates - stated Dr. Gavrankapetanović.

He added that it is illogical that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jasmin Kapetanović, owns a chain of private pharmacies, Dina, which do business with the Clinical Center. He called on Prime Minister Fadil Novalić to dismiss the Board of Directors.

Gavrankapetanović also said that he was called by "foreigners," but that these were friendly conversations, because people are concerned about human rights.

- I am endlessly grateful to colleagues from Zagreb, Belgrade, Banja Luka, Foča for their support - said Dr. Gavrankapetanović, who emphasized that he has never done anything to anyone in his career like what he is currently going through.

In conclusion, he stated that it would not be good for Sebija Izetbegović to be the SDA candidate for a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prof. Dr. Gavrankapetanović said that when Director Izetbegović talks about debts, she forgets that she was also a member of the KCUS Board of Directors and that debts were incurred at that time. She also had a so-called golden management contract, and her salary amounted to several thousand KM. Dr. Gavrankapetanović openly stated that he never had that, not even when the director was his brother, Dr. Faris Gavrankapetanović. As he says, he believes that this is not fair and that he would never do it.
