Galić ignored the opinion of experts from Sarajevo, candidates are being tested again in Mostar!

The admission of candidates for the VIII class cadets of the Border Police of BiH is accompanied by a series of controversies and suspicious actions. Out of 84 candidates who underwent a medical examination at the Institute for Health Protection of Employees of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, 14 were deemed medically unfit to perform police duties, writes the Patria agency.

Although the management of the Border Police of BiH wrote to the Institute for Health Protection of Employees of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton seeking an opinion on the appeals of candidates who did not meet the health and psychological criteria for the police officer position and received a response that the selection of police officers in all EU and neighboring countries is carried out in reference centers that possess specific psychometric instruments and methodology for that specific purpose, for the leadership of the Border Police of BiH this was not enough.

- In continuation of our cooperation, it is important that you are aware that our selection methodology will move towards increasing objectification of the entire process of selecting persons who perform highly risky and specific work in police agencies - it is stated, among other things, in the response.

The management of the Border Police of BiH made a decision to repeat the medical examination, and this time at the Health Center in Mostar!

According to information available to the Patria agency, the candidates who did not pass the medical examination in Sarajevo are those with strong political recommendations.

The Institute for Health Protection of Employees of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton covers all police agencies at the state level: SIPA, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, the Intelligence-Security Agency, and the Border Police of BiH. The Institute has the final say when it comes to hiring new police officers, assessing the health and psychological condition of a person who will carry a weapon every day and have special powers in the future. However, the management of the Border Police of BiH apparently sought a way for these candidates to be admitted anyway, even if they had to travel to Mostar for checks, thus ignoring the initial professional assessment of the Institute in Sarajevo.

A notice about this was posted on the bulletin board of the Border Police of BiH.

As stated in the notice, if the result of the check of the candidate's health, mental and physical fitness for work is negative, the candidate is excluded from the further selection process, and another candidate from the Commission's ranking list is invited for the check. Also, if after the security check it is determined that for the nominated candidate there are security obstacles to issuing a permit for access to classified information of the Confidential level, the candidate is excluded from the further selection process, and another candidate from the Commission's scoring list is invited for the check.

Incidentally, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Ministry of Security of BiH have been informed of all these actions, and a letter detailing the suspicious actions of the leadership of the Border Police of BiH regarding the admission of VIII class candidates has been sent to them.
