Gallery where Safet Zec exhibited destroyed by flood

The "AB" gallery of graphic artist Admira Bradarić was destroyed by a flash flood that ravaged Maglaj in just a few hours, on the night of May 14-15, writes the BH news agency Patria.

- The gallery is completely destroyed. I have removed the mud that remained after the water receded. I am trying to save what I can. The mud has seeped into every pore and is difficult to clean, the water level was 50 cm. Now I am waiting for the walls to dry - says Bradarić.

Water also entered the second floor of the gallery where the artist held art workshops for children and adults in drawing, painting, sculpting, jewelry making... As she says, no one could have expected a flood of such magnitude.

- Everything happened very quickly, in an hour or two the water level reached 3 meters. I raised things to a height of one meter. I thought that even if there was a flood, it wouldn't be deep. No one expected the river to flow around their house - says Bradarić.

Incidentally, this young artist opened the gallery in 2009 with the help of her professor and mentor, graphic artist Halil Tikveša. The work of this gallery was also supported by BH artist Safet Zec, who had a solo exhibition in 2011. Besides him, Mustafa Skopljak, Amra Zulfikarpašić, Ismet Krkalić, and many other artists also exhibited.

Admira emphasizes that she still has the support of numerous artists who call and ask how they can help her.

- I intend to restore the gallery, it will surely take time, but I will do it. The gallery's collection remains, so I have something to start with - Bradarić told NAP.
