Gačanin fined 15 percent salary deduction

The Disciplinary Commission of the BiH Border Police today fined the Deputy Director of the BiH Border Police, Enes Gačanin, a 15 percent salary deduction for two months due to the "Kutlovac" case, reports the reporter of the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) from the scene. This concerns the case in which the BiH Border Police officer Edvin Kutlovac abandoned his duty in South Sudan, and Gačanin was accused of incorrectly informing the authorities about it.

Namely, Gačanin was fined for a serious breach of official duty, specifically for direct communication with the Minister of Security of BiH without the director's knowledge and, as stated after the Commission's session, for providing incorrect information. This decision of the commission was announced to reporters by the president, Svevlad Hofman.

Although invited as a witness, the Minister of Security of BiH, Fahrudin Radončić, did not attend the commission's session and justified his absence. Gačanin's defense attorney, lawyer Vlado Adamović, emphasized that this is a first-instance decision and announced an appeal.

- If I were in Hofman's place, I would postpone the decision, given that not all witnesses appeared. My client is being punished because he communicated with the authorities with the intention of protecting the service. The worst thing of all is that everything attributed to my client has now tripled - said Adamović.
