(Patria) - The Federal Police Administration (FUP) has warned citizens that cases of counterfeit banknotes (euro currency) have recently been registered in the BiH.
These fake banknotes often look very similar to real money, making them difficult to recognize.
Cases have been identified where unknown persons, through an online trading application, specifically target mobile phones of higher monetary value, after which they contact the owners and purchase mobile phones from them, paying with counterfeit banknotes in denominations of 100 and 200 euros.
"For the reasons stated, we appeal for additional caution when conducting buy-sell transactions in which you receive euro currency for your products or services.
In case of suspicion of a counterfeit banknote, immediately notify the nearest police station or call 122. These measures will help in your personal protection and the protection of our community from financial losses," stated the FUP.
