SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Federal Civil Protection Administration began searching this morning for an elderly woman whose disappearance was reported to the police yesterday by her family, the FUCZ announced.
Šemsa Katana is missing, last seen yesterday in Dobrinja near Sarajevo International Airport.
The search, led by the FUCZ and currently involving about 50 FUCZ members, two search dogs, members of the Novi Grad Sarajevo Police Station, Novi Grad Sarajevo Civil Protection, GSS in BiH - Novi Grad Sarajevo and Ilidža stations, and family members, is taking place in the municipalities of Novi Grad Sarajevo, Novo Sarajevo, and Ilidža. One search team has also been dispatched to the Republika Srpska area in East Sarajevo, and the East Sarajevo Police Administration has been informed.
Posters with her photo and information, along with phone numbers citizens can call if they have information about the missing person, have been posted in multiple locations throughout the City of Sarajevo, especially in places where many people can see them, at shopping malls, and bus and tram stops...
Nursing homes, health centers, and hospitals are being checked. Anyone with any information about the missing person or who has seen her is asked to notify the nearest police station.
