Fuad Kasumović: Why I called Mevludin Dizdarević a radical hodja

 

Independent candidate for mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović, today sent a new statement to the media, aiming to prevent misinterpretation and distortion of a press release from three days ago, reports the Patria News Agency.  

-My qualification of hodja Mevludin Dizdarević as a "radical hodja" was intended to point out his radical political views and the slandering of my person, and by no means as a radicalization of the imam's calling - efendija, on my part.

I have no intention of interfering in religious matters and assessing radicalization from that side, because Zenica has two competent leaders who care about religious life: the respected Zenica mufti Dr. Ejub ef. Dautović and the chief imam Mr. Jakub ef. Salkić.

I fully support the work and activities of the Islamic Community of BiH as a whole. However, I disagree with and point out the anomalies of certain officials, which result in the degradation of the honorable calling of an imam and the abuse of both the calling, religious buildings, and rituals for political purposes.

Therefore, I consider it important to point out possible misinterpretations of my statement as someone who is against the Islamic Community of BiH and someone who considers certain hodjas to be religious radicals, Kasumović states.
