Fuad Kasumović: I could no longer watch the injustice being done to Zenica

Independent candidate for mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović, recipient of the "Golden Lily", the highest wartime recognition of the Army of BiH from 1993, a man with a rich biography, today officially announced the start of his election campaign, in which he entered determined to win the largest number of votes from his fellow citizens with his references and quality program, reports the Patria agency.

- My program boils down to employment first, employment second, and employment again. I will be the mayor and help all citizens, not just those loyal and obedient to political parties - Kasumović said in his first official media appearance since the start of the election campaign for the local elections on October 2nd.

He applied as an independent candidate for mayor of Zenica because, as he said, he could no longer watch the injustice being done to Zenica and its citizens by the obedient and loyal.

- There is only one mayor to be elected. Citizens should choose their mayor, not have party headquarters from Sarajevo choose their mayor. I promise that with a set of measures, I will ensure that investors do not bypass Zenica and go to other cities to register companies and employ people. That is why I am determined to reorganize the city administration. I will assemble a team of people who will resolve paperwork for domestic and foreign investors within seven days - Kasumović announced.

Regarding public companies, Kasumović said that they have hired "party soldiers and their families", which are financed by citizens through unnecessary fees and flat rates.

- I promise to abolish all flat rates and fees that we pay to Zenica's public companies so that they can finance their children and election activities. That will no longer happen because it is not legal - emphasized Fuad Kasumović.

Fuad Kasumović plans to solve the city heating problem with the only possible and realistic solution – by purchasing new boilers from ArcelorMittal Zenica, a company that feeds thousands of Zenica families. Kasumović will increase allocations for agriculture from the current KM 320,000 annually to KM 3.2 million, with which he wants to help rural development. In addition, he will asphalt roads in all villages during his term.

- If I could go to Saudi Arabia on the initiative of the late Husejin Smajlović and arrange a loan on extremely favorable terms, I can do the same for the Nemilski and Babinski basins, as well as for Stranjani, Mošćanica, Pojske, Donja Vrata, and other settlements. I will also complete the GGM, connect it to the A1 highway. Zenica will be a pleasant place to live, to which people will come and from which young people will not leave. Of course, villages deserve more and they will get it - Kasumović concluded.

 

He added that he will solve the problem of stray dogs in a record short time, as well as introduce free Wi-Fi in all settlements. He will repair existing and build new children's playgrounds and sports fields, and place them under video surveillance.
