The Final Fight Championship, which will be held on Friday, March 13th in Sarajevo's Skenderija Hall, is getting closer. The kick-boxing part of the program will feature interesting duels, with Dževad Poturak and Frank Munoz in the main roles.
The two heavyweights will conclude this Sarajevo FFC edition. Kick-boxing fans in the region had the opportunity to meet and see Frank Munoz in action. The Spanish fighter participated in the K-1 World Grand Prix Final held in Zagreb Arena in 2012. He was defeated in a match against Mladen Brestovac, and this time he will perform at a Final Fight event for the first time. His opponent in Sarajevo will be the local fighter Dževad Poturak.
- Poturak is a well-known and experienced fighter who has fought against big names like Badr Hari or Alistair Overeem. He may not be the technically perfect fighter I've seen, but he is very courageous and never gives up. I truly respect him as a fighter considering what he has achieved throughout his career, Frank Munoz said at the beginning of his interview for Fight Site.
In his career so far, this 31-year-old fighter, born in Barcelona, has achieved a record of 60 wins (31 by (T)KO) and 16 losses. In his last match, he was defeated by compatriot Cesar Cordoba after a streak of five wins, and he will be looking to return to winning ways in Sarajevo.
- I think motivation is my biggest advantage right now. I know the Sarajevo crowd will not be disappointed with what they see in that match. Everyone can expect a real fireworks display and a spectacle rarely seen. I will go all or nothing in that match, said Munoz, who usually approaches fights like this.
During 2013, he was the winner of the SUPERKOMBAT Fighting Championship and is also the European WAKO-Pro K-1 champion. He has had tough fights against strong opponents in his career, and he particularly remembers some of them.
- Once, I fought in Thailand as a participant in the Enfusion reality show. My opponent was the Armenian Sahak Parparyan. I beat him, but it was one of the toughest fights of my career. I remember that fight well, where I didn't have a coach in my corner. There were other tough opponents like Rico Verhoeven or Mladen Brestovac, but the one who truly impressed me was Nathan Corbett. He is the best heavyweight Muay Thai fighter in history.
Munoz still has a lot to show in his career, and he is quite satisfied with what he has achieved so far.
- If I were to retire now, I would be very happy with what I have achieved. Actually, I always look at what awaits me in the future, and the mistakes I made in the past have helped me become the fighter and man I am today. That's why I have no regrets, Munoz added.
His future plans are not exclusively tied to the ring.
- My plan is to finish sports management at the university in Amsterdam while continuing to fight. However, it's difficult to arrange everything. It's not easy to fully dedicate oneself to studies and the training required for a top level and to coordinate it all well, said Frank Munoz, who will perform at FFC for the first time in Sarajevo.
- Final Fight is an excellent and respected promotion that is constantly growing and is very strong in this part of Europe. I hope they will continue to do such a good job and perhaps soon come to my homeland, Spain. That would be great, we have excellent arenas where numerous spectators would come, Munoz added.
