Franjičević: No one without electoral legitimacy can represent citizens

It is impossible for anyone, if not legitimized in a democratic procedure, to take it upon themselves to represent citizens, stated the representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mate Franjičević (HDZ BiH) for the BH News Agency Patria, commenting on the activities of plenums in Bosnian cities.

He emphasizes that citizens' plenums can be one way for citizens to express their views, but they cannot replace or substitute the democratic process.

- However, if it has the ambition or pretension to create political decisions concerning the general interest of all peoples and citizens, then it is clear that this goes beyond the framework set within the parliamentary democracy system – said Franjičević.
