Fra Ivo Marković: Relations between Muslims and Christians must turn around

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - It would be normal and wise for people to admit the crime, admit the victim, establish a quality, correct relationship towards the victim. It is fundamental that repentance must come here, religions can help. We do not have that now, said Fra Ivo Mirković, professor at the Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo.

He said that the verdict against war criminal Radovan Karadžić should be a new beginning of sobering up.

He concluded that those who are on the side of evil, who are destructive, cannot last and they will certainly fail politically very quickly. Although they strive to break up BiH, new revolted forces are emerging in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fra Ivo believes, which are gradually taking over the dynamics of social life.

Fra Ivo Marković said at the Sunday session of Krug 99 that relations between Christianity and Islam are being refracted in BiH and that these could be the most positive relations.

He believes that relations between Christians and Muslims are traumatic, and that Christians and Muslims have been "sick for 14 centuries with religious trauma that arises with the origin of religion".

"After 14 centuries, such relations must turn around in a Copernican manner," Marković emphasized.

He pointed out that an immeasurable number of responsible Christians and Muslims are emerging who are working on rapprochement, and a new vision is being created, "and we need that powerful and strong vision so that we do not look at the present from the conflicts of the past, but from the inspiration of the future".
