PHOTO October fogs bring trouble to Zenica residents, the city begins to choke in smog again

Although the air quality in Zenica does not seem so bad in the summer period, at least on the surface, October fogs bring the first troubles for Zenica residents, which will last until spring.

According to data from the Air Quality Department of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, instruments are already recording the first increased concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and dust in Zenica, as well as in Tuzla and Sarajevo.

For example, Zenica could practically not be seen from the nearby Smetovi picnic area today due to dense smog. The company Mittal contributes the most to the catastrophic situation in Zenica, as its chimneys are not equipped with adequate purification filters.
The civil sector filed a series of criminal charges against Mittal's management and federal authorities this summer, but nothing has changed yet, writes Patria.
