PHOTO: How Bosnian politicians welcome world-class statesmen, and how others do it

Simply put, Bosnian politicians are far from being statesmen. Not European ones, we won't even consider them. We will compare them with regional ones, writes the Patria news agency.  

Thus, the most powerful woman in Europe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, was welcomed at the airport in Belgrade yesterday by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić. Vučić saw Merkel off from the airport this morning for Sarajevo.

And then a „protocol shock“ follows in Sarajevo.

Instead of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, because these are visits of prime ministerial rank, at the Sarajevo Airport was the head of Bosnian diplomacy, Igor Crnadak. Shameful and scandalous!

Even during the May visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Bosnian politicians who call themselves state officials did not cover themselves in glory.

Instead of the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcoming Erdogan at the Sarajevo Airport, the Minister of Civil Affairs, Adil Osmanović, was sent.

Both the members of the state Presidency and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, with such behavior, not only show elementary ignorance of protocol activities, but literally humiliate world-class statesmen whose help this country desperately needs.

Just when we think we are at the bottom, they show us that we can sink even deeper. And how then can we expect Merkel, Erdogan, or some other European or world official to perceive us as a serious country striving for EU and NATO integration.
