Forum in Banja Luka: Diaspora can be one of the leading investors in BiH

The third business forum of the BiH diaspora, BhdiaFor2015, was held in Banja Luka on Friday, attracting hundreds of entrepreneurs and potential investors from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, writes the Patria news agency.

This important economic gathering for our country was organized by the non-governmental organization Naša perspektiva, with the assistance of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and the World Diaspora Alliance, as well as the Norwegian Embassy - the main donor of the forum.

Entrepreneurs from BiH had the opportunity to talk with people from the BiH diaspora who are owners, co-owners, or managers of companies around the world, thereby drawing ideas for new businesses, establishing new collaborations, and creating opportunities for new economic projects important for BiH.

It is estimated that around two million people of BiH origin live in the world. According to data from the Central Bank of BiH, they formally send about two billion KM annually to their family members in the country, which is about 13 percent of the total GDP, the same amount is sent through informal channels, and huge amounts of money are spent in BiH during their annual holidays.
