Forto: Situation is serious but under control, reduce movement

(Patria) - "The situation is serious, but under control," said KS Prime Minister Edin Forto after an emergency session of the KS Government.

"We are with the citizens, we ask everyone to reduce movement to a minimum - both in Sarajevo Canton and outside the canton. Civil Protection is taking all measures for flood protection. Public utility companies are making all their capacities available. The KS Government is in continuous session. Classes in schools are suspended where necessary. The Ministry of Interior is regulating traffic," Forto said.

Residents of the settlements Butmir, Otes, Butile, East Ilidža, and Ilidža are facing floods this morning due to river overflows and torrents.

In some settlements, part of the population is being evacuated, while others are moving to higher floors.

Parts of Sarajevo are without electricity because the main Elektroprenos transformer station in Reljevo has been flooded.
