Forto confirms that Our Party is not taking part in the attempt to recall Hasan Tanović

(Patria) - President of Our Party Edin Forto confirmed that Our Party is not taking part in the attempt to recall the mayor of Novo Sarajevo, Hasan Tanović.

"We may be dissatisfied, but we do not want a circus. Elections are next year. We must turn to the citizens, and they will give their assessment in 2024," Forto stated.

We recall, Tanović supported the mayor of Centar, Srđan Mandić, after his recall was passed with 18 votes from councilors.

Recently, in the Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council, there was a change in the chairperson, Robert Plešea from Our Party, who was removed. Instead, Danijela Šahat was elected as chairperson. Tanović was then accused of cooperating with the SDA.

From the NIP, which lost some councilors in Novo Sarajevo, there is dissatisfaction with Tanović's work. However, whether the recall will actually be voted on remains questionable.

Incidentally, in the 2020 local elections, Tanović received support from four parties, namely the troika and the then NBL. He later formally joined the SDP BiH.
