Forto resigns, proposal for new Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton submitted to Čelik

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Edin Forto (Our Party) today officially submitted his resignation as Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, thereby collapsing the entire Government of Sarajevo Canton, which had been voted no confidence on January 29 with 18 votes from the new parliamentary majority of SDA, SBB, DF and BOSS.

Today, a rotation also occurred in the leadership of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, so according to a prior agreement, the position of Chairman was taken over by Mirza Čelik from SDA. The leadership also includes Smiljana Viteškić (SDA), Vibor Handžić (Our Party), and Danijela Kristić (People and Justice).

Incidentally, the caucuses of the new majority, with the SDA having split its caucus to secure a majority in the Collegium of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, so now there are also SDA 2 - Independent, SDA 2 - BOSS, SDA Women - Independent, DF and SBB, today submitted to Chairman Mirza Čelik a proposal for the candidate for Prime Minister of the Canton, Mario Nenadić.

The SDA, SBB and DF had already earlier divided ministerial positions, and over the past two days the names of future ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton have been formalized.

The Democratic Front (DF) proposed Rusmir Mesihović for Minister of Health, while for the position of Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, DF Presidency member Goran Mačkić from Banja Luka will be proposed.

The Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) proposed Ismir Jusko for Minister of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, Anis Krivić for Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton, and Tea Mušić for Minister of Labor and Social Policy.

The ministers of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the new convocation of the Government of Sarajevo Canton will be: Minister of Communal Economy and Infrastructure Nihada Glamoč, Minister of Finance Jasmin Halebić, Minister of Justice and Administration Mersa Kustura, Minister of Culture Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection Faruk Kapidžić, Minister of Transport Adi Kalem, and Minister for Veterans' Affairs Senad Hasanspahić.
