(Patria) - The president of Our Party, Edin Forto, congratulated March 8, International Women's Day, via Facebook, and in his message, he stated that he wants a society without violence against women.
"For a society without violence against women! For a society in which there are no positions exclusively reserved for men! We must be prepared to pay any price necessary to achieve gender equality," Forto stated.
However, he soon received a response to his wishes. A Facebook user wrote to him that his congratulation was an insult to her.
"First, clean the abusers from your ranks, ministers who beat women, yell at female journalists, and stay silent to those stronger than them, and then congratulate this day. This way it sounds like an insult," the comment read.
Forto replied that there are no "those you list" in Our Party.
But he received a response from the same user to that as well.
"Your presence at a conference where your coalition partner yells at a female journalist without your reaction clearly shows your attitude towards the abuse of women, so your congratulation is an insult to all women who earn a living outside of politics. And coalition at all levels with those who beat their wives is the lowest of the low," the angry response stated.
After that, Forto did not respond further.
