Establish a Central Fingerprint Database at the State Level

In relation to the disturbed security situation, following the terrorist attack in Rajlovac where all soldiers were killed and one injured, the Our Party Security Council issued a statement, reports the Patria News Agency.

- The priority in the fight against terrorism is intelligence work and attack prevention. In this regard, we believe that the establishment of a central fingerprint database at the state level is necessary. It would enable significantly more effective control over the movement of individuals suspected of being connected to terrorist organizations. This tool would help BiH security and intelligence services to act more coherently, given that the source of their current sluggishness is, among other things, the particularity of existing databases. International cooperation in the field of databases would also be facilitated, and BiH's reputation in international security structures would certainly increase - the Council stated.

They added that they support the appeal from the BiH Prosecutor's Office to the authorities and the HJPC to appoint additional prosecutors to the Terrorism Department.

- Since with two existing prosecutors we cannot seriously claim to have the capacity to fight terrorism. Just as it is unacceptable that there is a vacuum in information exchange between the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, on the one hand, and the Ministry of Security and OSA, on the other. It is surprising that the portal 'Vijesti Ummeta', which justifies and inspires terrorist attacks, has not been shut down, but has only been moved to a public web hosting service (WordPress).

BiH political and security structures can and must, with the help of international partners, exert pressure to disable the mentioned user account, as well as all similar media channels that publish content that threatens the security of citizens and the state of BiH.

Minister Mektić stated that "two hackers contacted him" with the name of the person behind that portal. Besides the question of what the BiH state has undertaken against this person, who, as stated, is located in the USA, the question arises - why were they not located by OSA technicians; what is the IT sector in OSA for if individuals independently do their job when needed - concluded the Our Party Security Council.
