(Patria) - After the accident caused by a rockfall near Foča, in which Aida Softić (33) lost her life, "Putevi Republike srpske" have formed a team for an extraordinary traffic safety inspection on the Dobro Polje–Miljevina and Miljevina–Brod na Drini sections. Protective nets already exist at the accident site, but according to expert findings, additional signage will be urgently installed and further works will be planned based on priorities.
The company states that the cuts along this section are up to 400 meters deep, which increases the risk of rockfalls and requires additional driver caution.
"We sympathize with the families of the victims and will do everything in our power to prevent similar accidents," said representatives of "Putevi Republike srpske".
They add that over 200 million BAM has been invested in road infrastructure in Herzegovina, including projects for the construction of a bypass around Trebinje, a bridge over the Tara River, and the reconstruction of the Brod na Drini–Šćepan Polje road. The rehabilitation of the Trnovo–Dobro Polje–Miljevina road is also planned, which is on the priority list for remediation.
