
(Patria) - On Friday, an Initiative Committee of the Bosniak Forum of Herzegovina was established in Mostar, which will focus its activities on key issues of interest to Bosniaks in Mostar and Herzegovina, advocating for the protection of their individual and collective rights, freedoms, and dignity.
The primary task of the Bosniak Forum of Herzegovina at this moment will be the realization of the Mevlana Intercultural Center project at the Lakišića harem site in the center of Mostar, which will be of pan-Bosniak national and cultural significance and contribute to building peace and trust among peoples in the multi-ethnic city of Mostar.
Mr. Azem Feriz, president of the Bosniak Cultural Community Preporod Mostar, was proposed as the coordinator of the Initiative Committee.
The Initiative Committee consists of prominent representatives from all segments of social life of Bosniaks in Mostar and Herzegovina, the Islamic Community, all political parties that gather Bosniaks, non-governmental organizations, educational and cultural institutions.
