Foreign Policy: Bosnia and Herzegovina Did Not Deserve to Be Kicked Out of the World Cup Like This!

Bosnia and Herzegovina did not deserve to be eliminated from the World Cup due to poor refereeing decisions; its path to the tournament was harder than anyone else's, writes the prominent American foreign policy magazine Foreign Policy, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Other teams have also been harmed by refereeing decisions, but they were not as fatal and often involved national teams that regularly play in major competitions, the text states.

- For BiH, a young divided country that long fought to reach a major competition, such a refereeing blunder and slap can have deeper consequences. Most Bosnian Serbs and Croats do not support their team, and a good result at the World Cup could have changed that, injecting a dose of national unity. Instead, there will only be a feeling of disappointment, and a sense that nothing ever goes easy for Bosnia and Herzegovina, states Foreign Policy.
