Foundation for the Protection of Historical Heritage Presents Material Digitization Project

The Foundation for the Protection of Historical Heritage in BiH will tomorrow present a project for the digitization of cultural-historical materials from two of the seven cultural institutions of national importance, the Historical Museum and the National and University Library of BiH, as well as the newspaper Oslobođenje, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The goal of the project, as announced by the Foundation, is to prevent the decay and destruction of BiH's rich heritage through the donation of state-of-the-art equipment and software. The donation is made possible over a period of three years.

Incidentally, the Foundation for the Protection of Historical Heritage is an interdisciplinary platform focused on preserving the cultural-historical heritage of the region. It was created out of the need to preserve and promote the cultural identities of all peoples and ethnic and religious groups in the region, and to enable connections with local, regional, and international educational, research, and creative centers.     

The press conference will be held at the premises of the NUB BiH starting at 11:00 AM. Those present will be addressed by Dr. James Lyon, historian and founder of the Foundation, Nadina Grebović-Lendo, digitization coordinator of NUB BiH, and Elma Hašimbegović, director of the Historical Museum of BiH.
