Izvor nade Foundation signs scholarship agreements with 25 high school students

Scholarship agreements for 25 high school students for the 2017/2018 school year were signed at the premises of the "Izvor nade" Student Dormitory in Sarajevo.

This is a continuation of the activities of the leadership of the "Izvor nade" Foundation to support the education of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina by providing scholarships to high school and university students.

Tarik Agetović, director of the "Izvor nade" Foundation, said that the Foundation's goal is to provide support to high school students in their learning, progress, and development.

- We have results behind us that we can be proud of, achieved by our high school students, scholarship recipients of the Foundation. They finished the last school year with an average grade of 4.3, which makes us particularly happy. I expect our scholarship recipients to show a desire for progress and good results this year as well, because only then can they justify the trust placed in them, as well as the trust of more than 200 donors who support the Foundation's work - stated Director Agetović during his address, wishing the high school students a happy and successful school year.

Merjem Salihagić, advisor for education at the "Izvor nade" Foundation, said that communication with parents is of utmost importance.

- There are many foundations that offer scholarships, but few that spend 24 hours a day with high school students like our Foundation does. We are available to them with various courses, tutoring, and additional classes. Communication with parents is very important for high school students who are separated from their homes and parents - said Salihagić.

Irfan Djedović, coordinator for work with high school and university students, said during his address to parents and students that the high school students will stay at the "Izvor nade" Student Dormitory in the new school year, where all necessary conditions for learning and development are available to them.

- We hope and expect that through quality cooperation and mutual commitment, we will achieve even better results, primarily in the academic success of our scholarship recipients in their school obligations, as well as their development as healthy individuals - said Djedović.

Nermin Šehić, a parent of a high school student sponsored by the "Izvor nade" Foundation, also addressed the attendees. Šehić emphasized the very correct and pleasant cooperation and expressed hope that it will continue in the future.

In a statement for the Foundation, Tarik Džindo, a third-year student at Gimnazija Obala in Sarajevo, said that the cooperation with the Foundation is excellent.

- Whenever I needed help, it was provided to me in a maximally short period. The Foundation's coordinators, on behalf of our parents, attended parent-teacher meetings, which is certainly a relief for parents. I had quality support during my preparation for the German language competition in which I participated last school year. I believe that the scholarship, as well as other forms of assistance offered by the Foundation, will be helpful to my colleagues who signed scholarship agreements today - said Džindo, who is originally from Vlasenica.

Foundation representatives will sign scholarship agreements with university students for the new academic year in October.

We remind you that 49 high school students, scholarship recipients of the "Izvor nade" Foundation, achieved an average grade of 4.3 in the previous school year. 21 high school students had excellent success, and five of them achieved an average grade of 5.0.
