SDP BiH's focus is on solving citizens' life problems

A meeting was held at the premises of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP BiH) between Nermin Nikšić, President of SDP BiH, and Khaldoun Sinno, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH. The topic of the meeting was the current political situation in our country, Patria reports.

Speaking about the issue of Stolac, President Nikšić pointed out that there is a great need to improve the electoral legislation in the country, with the aim of preventing abuses of the electoral process, removing deceased persons from voter lists, and introducing electronic voting. Nikšić believes that there is significant capacity among political actors to make such decisions, and opposition comes mainly from those who, by controlling the vote counters, thwart the will of voters.

- If we do not make serious changes to the electoral legislation, I fear that in the 2018 elections there could be many more cases similar to the one in Stolac, and that would be a heavy blow for Bosnia and Herzegovina - Nikšić emphasized.

Regarding the revision of the verdict, Nikšić stated that the entire issue should now be left to legal experts who will present evidence and arguments, and it is up to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to make the final decision.

- We do not want to spend the next year talking about the lawsuit and evidence. Our focus is on the real life problems of citizens. We are seeking an increase in pensions, more investments, new jobs, and the construction of a highway. Our country is moving backwards, falling behind, and the ordinary person suffers the most; these are the issues we want to focus on - Nikšić stated.
