FK Željezničar offers new evidence: The referee's decision was wrong

Football club Željezničar has, through additional analyses, obtained a video clip that clearly shows the lines of movement and reference lines, based on which it can be determined with certainty that the attacker of FK Željezničar was not in an offside position in the 93rd minute of the match in Široki Brijeg, and that the offside line offered by the Refereeing Committee of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina was not justified, announced FK Željezničar, as reported by the Patria news agency.

-In this way, we want to raise awareness that mistakes are an integral part of sports, but they should be acknowledged and sanctioned. The Refereeing Committee is precisely the instance that should and must act impartially, based on sustainable arguments and in the interest of football development. That is what the sports public expects, and only in this way can the quality of refereeing be raised to a higher level.

FK Željezničar will make up for the lost points on the football field in fair and honest competition with sports rivals, but there remains a degree of discomfort that the result achieved on the field has not been verified.

Therefore, the Board of Directors of FK Željezničar decided that the sports segment of the Club will not be deprived of the promised bonuses, because our footballers did on the field what was expected of them and, with one player less on the field, achieved a victory that was denied to them by refereeing decisions.

If this incident becomes a turning point so that the focus of football clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina is on sustainable development and investment in youth academies, rather than on calculations about what kind of refereeing they can expect, then we will be able to say that we have achieved our goal, the statement reads.
