Physical altercation in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly between Zahiragić and Vreto, insults and harsh words exchanged with Okerić

(Patria) - A verbal, and then physical altercation occurred today at the SC Assembly session between MPs Haris Zahiragić and Elvis Vreto while discussing the Proposal of the Decision on giving consent to the Work Program and Financial Plan of the Public Institution "Sarajevo Canton Memorial Fund" for 2024. A discussion opened about changing the logo because the Fund had already changed its logo, and after public pressure, the lily and minaret were returned.

The shoving was preceded by a heated discussion between Faruk Kapidžić and Elvedin Okerić, after which Zahiragić also joined in.

Zahiragić stood up from his seat and moved towards where Elvedin Okerić was sitting. Vreto stood up and tried to stop him, and Zahiragić told him to get out of his way.

"You coward, how dare you," Zahiragić said to Okerić, who replied: "You brat".

A shoving match ensued between Zahiragić and Vreto, and other MPs prevented a larger physical confrontation, after which a recess was declared.
