Fiscal Council meets after a long time: Topic is the IMF's concerning letter

(Patria) - Today, after a long time, the Fiscal Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold a session in Sarajevo, convened by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zoran Tegeltija.

One of the key topics should be the recent letter sent by the IMF to, among others, the entity governments and the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Let us recall that the Head of the IMF Mission for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alina Iancu, sent a letter at the end of November to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zoran Tegeltija, requesting an urgent meeting with the Fiscal Council of BiH to discuss "the implications of Republika Srpska's withdrawal from the Indirect Taxation Authority".

"We are very concerned about the plans of the RS authorities, not only because the ITA is the most significant source of revenue for the RS, FBiH, and Brčko District of BiH. Setting aside the issues we are not in a position to discuss, our opinion is that the withdrawal of the RS from the ITA would have major economic consequences for everyone," she stated in the letter.

She points out that they would like to explain their concerns at the meeting and hear the Fiscal Council's views on this issue.
