(Patria) – After weeks of delays, disagreements and tender cancellations, the public procurement for the organization of the New Year's Eve celebration in Sarajevo has finally been concluded – but with new controversies.
The value of the contract is 700,000 KM, and what the public has not yet been officially informed about is that the contract was awarded to the company “Prorent” from Laktaši, through a negotiated procedure, without the usual competition.
The tender was previously cancelled three times – first due to failure to meet formal conditions, then due to a lack of adequate bids. Only on the fourth attempt, and with less than 20 days left until New Year, was the procedure completed, and Prorent appeared as the sole bidder, who also waived the right to appeal.
Thus, instead of a transparent process, the public was offered a “take it or leave it” model, which further raises the question of why the city's biggest event is left to the last moment – and why the contract again ended up in the hands of a company from Laktaši.
The celebration of New Year 2026 is planned behind the Sarajevo City Center, where the audience is expected to be entertained by Croatian singer Jelena Rozga.
