Film 'Sniper Alley – To My Brother' Screened for the First Time in Mostar

(Patria) - At the Mostar Cultural Center, as part of the international cultural event “Mostar Summer 2025”, the film “Sniper Alley – To My Brother” was screened for the first time in Mostar this evening.



"Sniper Alley – To My Brother" is a documentary film about Džemil Hodžić and his deeply personal and emotional project Sniper Alley, which gathers authentic photographs by world-renowned war photojournalists taken during the Siege of Sarajevo (1992–1996).

Džemil Hodžić dedicated the film to his brother Amel, who was killed during the Siege of Sarajevo and who loved to draw and dreamed of becoming an artist, as well as to all children who continue to dream despite surviving the horrors of the siege.

"This is the first time that I, as the author of the 'Sniper Alley' project, am visiting Mostar, and it is also the first time we are screening the film in Mostar, but I hope it won't be the last. I am sincerely honored to be here tonight, especially since the film's directors are not with us tonight, so the responsibility falls on me to present the film and the project. It is an honor to be in heroic Mostar. What I am dealing with and what the project deals with regarding the Siege of Sarajevo is deeply connected to Mostar, which went through something similar or worse, so I empathize with Mostar almost as much as with Sarajevo," Hodžić stated.

The film was directed by Cristiana Lucia Grilli and Francesco Toscani, owners of the production studio Creative Motion. It was supported by OBC Transeuropa and the Naples Human Rights Festival. The executive producer is Ognjen Dizdarević.

Tomorrow (Sunday, July 27th), the “Mostar Summer 2025” program includes the promotion of the book "Franciscans – Guardians of Bosnia" by author Faruk Vele, which will be held at the Mostar Cultural Center, starting at 8 PM.
