Filipović: Opponents of Cerić's Candidacy Advocate for Continued Paralysis of the State!

It would be logical for none of the former and current members of the Presidency to run and for new people to be sought, academician Muhamed Filipović told the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) regarding the upcoming General Elections and candidates for the BiH Presidency.

He said that, given the fact that the situation in the country is completely chaotic and that all previous presidents of the state have failed, they no longer have the legitimacy to run again.

- Regardless of when and for how long they served, they all bear part of the responsibility for the paralysis of society and the decline of the state. Since there is no organized public opinion here, it is deeply fragmented first nationally, then politically, then by interest and group, there is no moral or intellectual authority that could indicate what should be done or which people would be most optimal. It is logical then that people themselves should assess this, and it is already showing. New personalities are emerging, such as Fahrudin Radončić, who was also a candidate last time, but whose votes are known to have been stolen, then Mustafa Cerić, Mirsad Kebo, and other people I don't know, but it is not bad that more candidates appear – Filipović told Patria.

He also commented on the announced candidacy of Dr. Mustafa Cerić for the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, and the various opinions that can be heard, including the claims of academician Esad Duraković, who in an interview for Klix.ba assessed that Cerić's entry into politics is wrong and harmful.

- It cannot be bad for Bosniaks to have a whole range of personalities to choose from. It is only bad for those who think that Bosniaks depend only on one or two people. I disagree with that, it is the opinion of advocates for the status quo. Those who think that way want things to remain as before, for us to blindly choose the same people regardless of their results and the devastating situation and their behavior outside any cultural and political level – Filipović said, as reported by NAP.

He added that the question of who among them will "appeal to the national line, whether on religious, political grounds, what program they will present" will be decisive for how the public will relate to them.

- What is important there is to exclude the influence of religion, the influence of financial power and behind-the-scenes actions, and to enable people to finally vote and elect people based on their political programs and maximum assurance that they will not betray them. Because all previous ones had programs that they did not even try to implement. Name me just one case where a politician who announced certain programs and goals during the election process tried to achieve those goals. Not a single one – Filipović concluded for Patria.
