Filipović: I'm in top form, and what is happening in Gaza is terrible

Academician Muhamed Filipović says he is in top form and hasn't felt better in a long time. In an interview with the Bosnian news agency Patria, he said he is resting at his home in Sarajevo and recovering unexpectedly well.

Filipović was admitted to the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo on July 5 with a high fever. At the KUM, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and impaired kidney function, which caused weakened heart function. He spent the last ten days at the Clinic for Heart Diseases and Rheumatism, where additional tests were performed, after which he was discharged for home treatment.

- Although some thought the devil had come to claim his due, that did not happen – Filipović said with a laugh.

Although he was in a serious health condition, Academician Filipović did not miss following the events in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinian people. For him, it is terrible. The result of a political game that will cost the lives of hundreds of innocent Palestinian civilians.

- America wants to strengthen Israel's position in the Middle East, which is also shown by their constant efforts to weaken Turkey's position, Filipović explained. When asked how it is possible that the Islamic world calmly watches the suffering of Palestinians, Filipović said that the Islamic world as a whole does not exist and as such has no strength to resist current events, writes Patria.
