Fejzić: I thank all participants of the March for Peace

The March for Peace is one of the most significant activities within the commemoration of the anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks and the permanent remembrance of the genocide victims. Participants of the March for Peace cover a distance of over one hundred kilometers with a single goal: to pay tribute to the innocently killed in the genocide, reports the Patria news agency, states the announcement of the Subcommittee signed by Hamdija Fejzić.  

This year's March for Peace has etched the memory of the genocide victims into the permanent consciousness of Bosniaks, as well as other peoples who accept the truth and facts about the genocide. This year's March for Peace was attended by more than 12,000 participants from across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world. There is probably no place in BiH that did not have some of its citizens participating in the March for Peace. It is interesting to see participants of the March from all parts of the world, of all colors and races, conversing in various languages of the world.

All of them came to see and hear about Srebrenica. This year's March was particularly difficult because it took place during the month of Ramadan, but we are glad that everything went without problems. According to information, this was the best-organized March for Peace without a single issue.

The three stages over three days passed without problems. We thank all participants of the March from BiH and the world, the police, the Armed Forces of BiH, the media, stewards, and all those who contributed to everything going smoothly.

Among the participants were various groups from across BiH, people of all professions and occupations. People from all over the world, from Indonesia to Australia. The satisfaction for the fatigue and effort during the three-day walk was experienced by the participants upon arriving in Potočari and being welcomed by the survivors of the genocide.

Many of them even shed tears when they arrived in Potočari. The March for Peace is above all a remembrance of those who never crossed the Death March in 1995, and then a message to those who today look to the future never to forget Srebrenica.

The March for Peace should become a permanent category and part of the commemoration of the genocide against Bosniaks, so that people from all over the world continue to come to see, hear, and talk about Srebrenica, and we, as survivors and organizers, will strive to be good hosts and friends, the statement reads.
