Fejzić: Scientists from 14 Countries at Congress in Sarajevo

As the organizer of the two-day Congress with the motto “One world One health One vision”, on Wednesday, October 14, the Veterinary Faculty in Sarajevo will host nearly 300 participants from all over the world, reports the Patria news agency.

This is this year's largest international gathering in Southeast Europe in the field of „One Health”.

Participants come from 14 countries with diverse scientific programs that provide opportunities for continuous education, as well as the presentation of new and original research.

-We proudly emphasize that Sarajevo will be the center of science, knowledge, new insights and innovations during those days.

The 80 registered researchers, through five divided sections led by renowned domestic and foreign moderators, will demonstrate new methods on topics: Infectious, parasitic and vector-borne diseases, Food safety and public health, Animal production and welfare, Education and professional development, and Clinical sciences.

We are particularly pleased that domestic food producers will join the Congress, in order to create a new vision and set even better standards in their production facilities after the expert presentations.

Why all this is so important is best reflected in the fact that the concept of „One Health” is an internationally recognized strategy for developing interdisciplinary cooperation and communication in health for people, animals and the environment.

The achieved synergy will help protect and preserve countless millions of lives today and in future generations. Thus, it will improve „health for all”, and expand the bases of scientific knowledge, biomedical education and clinical medicine. As confirmation of its importance for humanity, this week's Nobel Prize award in this field and the discoveries that will save millions of those lives best illustrate this.

More than ever, biomedical sciences are experiencing increasingly wider application in the management of global, regional and national systems of public health, animal health and food safety. Networking of researchers and users is today a guarantee of excellence that will enable academic and scientific communities to fulfill their goals in educating highly-trained professionals and developing capacities for making the best decisions in the spheres of human and animal health, food safety and welfare improvement.

The ceremonial opening and reception for the International Congress ”One world One health One vision” is on October 14 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the City Hall, while plenary sessions are planned for October 15 starting at 9:00 AM at the Congress Center Terme Ilidža, states the press release signed by the Dean of the Veterinary Faculty in Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Nihad Fejzić.
