Fejzić: How a natural dam saved the residents of Starina

The catastrophic consequences of floods and landslides that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina are still felt by citizens in the affected areas today, writes the Patria News Agency. Horrific stories are still being told today by those who went through hell and whose houses were destroyed and flooded.

One of those who shared his story with the "islammylife" portal is Mujo Fejzić, a resident of Starina above Topčić Polje, which was almost razed to the ground in one night in less than seven hours.

- The hill opened up and rivers started flowing, carrying stones and trees towards the village of Starina and the place Topčić Polje, located at the foot of this village. By the will of God alone, a large dam of stones and logs was formed above the village of Starina, thus saving the inhabitants of this village and the place at its foot from total destruction and catastrophe - Fejzić says, among other things.

Otherwise, due to immense stress and excitement, Fejzić speaks very emotionally, and the hardest thing for him is that his baby is now suffering from severe trauma after all this.

- We are still afraid, and our children are scared. My seven-month-old baby wakes up at night and crawls away from something. My wife tells me it's the same in the collective center - says Fejzić.
