Federal Ministry of Labour Blocked, Secretary Returned Stamp but Hinders Employee Work

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has been almost completely blocked since yesterday.

After the Government of the Federation of BiH ordered at its session in Mostar that the General Secretary of the Ministry, Fehim Bekan, return the Ministry's stamp, which he illegally took from the office a few days ago, and confirmed the appointment of advisor in the Ministry, Stjepan Buconjić, to manage the Ministry until a new minister is appointed, the Federal Ministry of Labour is almost completely blocked.

Sources of the Patria news agency testify that many employees of the Ministry, who supported Bekan, have been in a panic since yesterday. After Bekan was removed from the position of General Secretary, many of them, as well as the secretary himself, could be held accountable for illegalities in this ministry.

The source claims that Kenan Spahić, one of Bekan's close associates and an assistant in the Ministry, has blocked some of the offices in the Ministry building since this morning, thus directly preventing his colleagues from going to their workplaces.

Panic is visible on the face, this source further claims, of the assistant minister for personnel affairs, Džana Kilić.

- She is aware that many people in this ministry hold positions they shouldn't be in, because they lack the qualifications required by law. Such individuals have been illegally taking salaries for months. Kilić, as the person responsible for personnel policy, should have warned about this much earlier. Now she is aware that she could be called to account – states this source.

The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton has received criminal complaints against Bekan. More than 500,000 beneficiaries, mostly disabled persons, pensioners, and socially vulnerable individuals, depend on the work of this ministry, writes NAP.
