Federal POSKOK starts work in April: Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office loses eight prosecutors, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office loses three

(Patria) - The Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the Federation of BiH for combating corruption, organized and inter-cantonal crime, and the Special Department of the Supreme Court of FBiH, after the appointment of the head of the Special Department, seven prosecutors and seven judges, could start work no later than the beginning of April this year.

Although the competition was announced for the head of POSKOK, nine prosecutor positions, and ten judges, the VSTV at its last session appointed Hrvoje Čabrajić as the head of POSKOK, as well as seven more prosecutors and seven judges.

It is not yet known when competitions will be announced for the remaining two prosecutor positions and three judge positions.

Regarding the recruitment of necessary administrative staff, legal advisors, and investigators, the appeals procedure is ongoing.

POSKOK will be located in the former building of the Privredna banka in Sarajevo, and the space has already been rented since October 2024.

The eight appointed prosecutors, including the head of the Special Department, come from the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, which will significantly affect the work of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Until the final decision on taking up the prosecutor positions in the Special Department, these prosecutors remain in the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. This was clarified by the chief federal prosecutor Munib Halilović.

It is expected that due to the departure of eight prosecutors, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office could soon request from the VSTV to announce a competition for the vacant positions. Otherwise, this prosecutor's office has the largest influx of reports and cases.

Although the Special Department will take over a certain number of cases, of a more complex nature, a large number of cases will still remain to be completed by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

We remind you, the following were appointed to prosecutor positions in the Special Department: Aida Bešlija, Amra Mehmedić, Samir Selimović, Nina Šahinpašić, Medina Džerahović, Aid Hadžismailović, and Jovo Karić.

The following were appointed as judges: Igor Todorović, Mersudin Pružan, Senad Osmić, Ajla Papović-Mujan, Pavo Radoš, Enisa Adrović, and Željko Rezo.

Of the seven judges, three are state prosecutors from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
