Federal parliamentarians find it appropriate to discuss freshwater fishing, but not a word about catastrophic floods!

(Patria) - The 14th regular session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH is underway in Sarajevo.

It is at the very least shameful, but also scandalous, that the agenda does not include information about the catastrophic floods that recently struck our country and claimed many lives.

This was pointed out in her discussion by Alma Kratina, a representative of the Democratic Front (DF), who stressed that it is unacceptable for the first item on the agenda to be the Proposal for a Law on Amendments to the Law on Freshwater Fishing.

- This is a farce under these circumstances. Mr. Speaker, you have already made several catastrophic mistakes. It is completely unacceptable that you, who preside over this house, now tell us that we should ask the Government to submit that infamous information within 30 days.

My dear people, there were floods. The Federal Civil Protection Administration did its job, the Government was on the ground. Why couldn't we get an assessment today of what we, at the federal level, can do for the affected areas in the coming period?

But also, one piece of information, which should have been a message to citizens from this high house, had to be the first item on the agenda before all of this, let alone freshwater fishing - Kratina said.

She stated that the FBiH Government was obliged to inform the FBiH Parliament about the floods through a report from the Federal Civil Protection Administration, and told the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dragan Mioković, that there was no need today to discuss laws that have no chance of being implemented if other laws are not amended first.

- As the Speaker, you should have noticed that something is wrong in that Government and that the ministries are not cooperating, that we are not putting forward laws that will again fail in the House of Peoples and be returned to us. Do citizens and we here have to wait 30 days for the Government to provide information, for them to write it all down nicely while they consolidate? - Kratina asked.
