Federal Parliament supports conclusions of the Energy Committee on mines, obligations of the FBiH Government and EP

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH adopted with 59 votes the conclusions of the Energy Committee regarding the current situation concerning miners, mine restructuring and the method of repaying debts for taxes and contributions in seven mines of the JP Elektroprivreda BiH Concern.

The Committee supported the social dialogue between miners - the Union, the FBiH Government and JP Elektroprivreda BiH with the aim of reaching an agreement.

"Mine restructuring has no alternative and support is given for the continuation of this process. Also, the conclusion is that EP BiH and the FBiH Government determine a financial plan program for repaying 433 million KM for taxes and contributions, in such a way that the FBiH Government provides funds for the calculation of the minimum wage, and EP BiH the rest, because EP will not be able to bear the burden of this debt alone. According to projections, 1/3 of the funds would be provided by the FBiH Government, and 2/3 by EP BiH and the mines," read the conclusions of the Energy Committee.

Also, the Committee requested from the FBiH Government and the relevant Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry to introduce a moratorium on hiring administrative staff in the mines.

After the first vote, these conclusions received support from 44 deputies, and after an individual vote, 59, thus they were adopted.

Before the session of the Energy Committee was held, due to which a half-hour break was given, the director of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, Admir Andelija, answered questions from the deputies.

He said that both the mines and EP BiH are facing the departure of experts needed by these companies, especially miners in the mines, which could be solved by increasing salaries.

He also spoke about the application of the Rulebook on Work and Work Performance, which began to be applied in the Kreka mine, emphasizing that it will be repealed and that work on a new rulebook will begin with the union.

According to the agreement that was largely harmonized yesterday, the plan is to resolve the problem of linking work experience in the next six years.

"The plan is to bring the mines to a situation by the end of 2022 so that from the beginning of 2023 they start repaying taxes and contributions," said Andelija.

The House of Representatives did not adopt the conclusions proposed by DF, SDP BiH, and Our Party regarding the mines and EP BiH.

The House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament at today's session in Sarajevo did not accept the business reports of two power utilities in the Federation of BiH for 2019 and 2020. These are Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo and Elektroprivreda HZHB Mostar.
