Federal delegates today to discuss lifetime monthly allowance for distinguished athletes

(Patria) - The 14th session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament is scheduled for today in Sarajevo, starting at 12:00 PM. There are 13 items on the agenda.


Agenda for today's session

Among the agenda items is the Draft Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers, which also applies to the protection of persons reporting corruption in the workplace.

This act proposes, among other things, penalties for responsible persons who do not allow the reporting of irregularities in their environments, as well as for the whistleblowers themselves if they knowingly submit a false report. This law prohibits retaliation, even if the allegations in the report turn out to be untrue.

Neither this nor any other law in FBiH can enter into force without the majority support of both houses of the FBiH Parliament. In its draft form, it was recently approved by the House of Representatives.

Another act in draft form, but of a completely different subject matter, is proposed for the agenda of today's session - on the lifetime monthly allowance for distinguished athletes.

It was proposed by delegate Silva Banović, who stated in the explanation that there are currently about 50 top athletes living in FBiH categorized as distinguished.

The law generally applies to current citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who achieved results in major competitions as representatives of the former Yugoslavia.

Also on the agenda are: the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Freshwater Fisheries (shortened procedure); the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Nature Protection; the Bill on Uniform Principles and Framework for Material Support of Persons with Disabilities in FBiH; the Draft Law on Employment Mediation and Social Security of Unemployed Persons.

The Draft Law on Social Entrepreneurship in FBiH, the Draft Law on Public-Private Partnership in FBiH, and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Employment of Foreigners are also among the proposed agenda items for today's session.
