Federal MP Kunovac asks the Government to help the Parent's House operate

Federal MP Amra Kunovac has asked the FBiH Government to urgently allocate funds for the operation of the Parent's House within the Pediatric Clinic in Sarajevo, after the media reported that the operation of this house is questionable due to lack of financial resources. The promised continuous financial support has not materialized.

The Parent's House in Sarajevo was opened in April this year. It accommodates parents and children suffering from cancer who live outside Sarajevo. The house was built with donor funds. It provides parents from other cantons with free accommodation in Sarajevo during their children's treatment, which is a great relief in an already difficult situation.

Only a few months after the house was opened, its operation is threatened due to a lack of financial resources. These funds are not enormous. Approximately 12,000 KM per month is needed for the Parent's House to operate.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton promised assistance for the operation of this house, and DF MP Kunovac is now asking the FBiH Government to also allocate funds, "because children from all over the Federation stay there.".

- One of the burning issues for parents of children suffering from cancer is that they cannot stay with their children continuously during treatment, even though it has been proven that a family atmosphere positively affects the treatment of sick children – MP Kunovac told Patria. She asked the Government to urgently allocate the necessary financial resources so that the Parent's House can operate smoothly, and so that the little ones receive full care, writes Patria.
