Fatima went to war zones to find her son, wanted to bring him back to BiH

Fatima Mahmutović from Srebrenik, who died in Syria a few days ago, went there to dissuade her elder son Mirzet from fighting in Syria, who has been fighting on the side of the rebels since the beginning of last year, allegedly on the initiative of Nusret Imamović, the self-proclaimed leader of Salafists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

This information was confirmed to Patria by Fatima's family. They actually say they do not have accurate information about what happened to Fatima. The news of her death was sent by her son Mirzet, who contacted Fatima's sister in Vienna, but no one else.

Fatima's brother Sakib, a respected judge from Srebrenik, has been trying to get accurate information about what happened to his sister for several days, but he is having difficulty.

Mirzet went to the war zone in Syria in May last year. According to data previously published by Federal Television, he was persuaded to do so by Nusret Imamović, whom the United States included among the ten most wanted terrorists in the world a few days ago, and who lived in Gornja Maoča, between Srebrenik and Brčko.

Mirzet's family, they told Patria, did everything to dissuade him from going to Syria, but he eventually went. Mother Fatima could not bear it, so at the end of last year, accompanied by her younger son Jasmin, she went to search for her son in the Syrian war zones. None of the family members know how or in what way she went to Syria.

Večernji list, citing official sources, reported that Fatima Mahmutović was killed in airstrikes in the Syrian city of Raqqa, and that 27-year-old Dora Bilić from Zagreb was wounded.

- We know nothing about her. Mirzet's departure to Syria has completely destroyed that family. Her husband no longer wants to hear about her or her sons - said one of Fatima's family members to NAP.

- We don't know what happened. Mirzet finished higher mechanical engineering school, and his brother Jasmin is a very good IT expert. We are all a respectable family. Mirzet was recruited by someone over the internet and he went to Syria. Then everything went wrong - said members of this family.
