Pharmacists wrote to Konaković: We believe you forgot to invite us to the meeting by mistake

We are deeply dismayed to learn that on August 19, you held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton, the Health Insurance Fund of Sarajevo Canton  and the directors of all public health institutions in Sarajevo Canton, as well as members of the Commission for Medicines of Sarajevo Canton, regarding the adoption of the new positive list of medicines for Sarajevo Canton, and that you did not invite representatives of private health institutions, as well as the chambers of physicians and pharmacists, to the said meeting, reports the Patria News Agency.

-It is unclear to us whether the new positive list is being made only for public institutions, or for the citizens of Sarajevo Canton.

We believe that you are aware that rational drug consumption is a very important segment in the creation of the budget of the Health Insurance Fund of Sarajevo Canton, as well as that it is an extremely important segment in the quality treatment of patients in Sarajevo Canton.

We believe that you are aware that a large number of highly professional individuals work in private health institutions, and professional associations of doctors and pharmacists, who can make a quality contribution to profiling the new positive list of medicines for Sarajevo Canton.

We want to believe that this omission occurred due to an administrative error, and not by your intention to exclude the private health sector from such a crucial issue.

Hoping that you will also enable the private health sector, as well as professional associations, chambers of physicians and pharmacists, to provide their remarks on the proposed list of medicines, states the letter sent to the Prime Minister of KS Elmedin Konaković, signed by the President of the Chamber of Pharmacy Masters of KS prim.mr.ph. Mirsad Šabaredžović.
