Fans Say Goodbye to Giga: "I Saw Him at the Protests on Saturday"

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Actor Marko Nikolić passed away on Wednesday at the age of 73 in the Zvezdara hospital.

Born in Kraljevo on October 20, 1946, he graduated in acting from the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio and Television in Belgrade. He will be remembered for the role of Dragiša Popadić, known as "Giga Moravac" from the series "Bolji život" (Better Life).

Fans from all the countries of the former Yugoslavia are saying goodbye to Nikolić. One of the users of the social network Twitter posted: "I saw Giga last Saturday at the protest. With difficulty, slowly, from the plateau. Every meter of his effort was worthy of respect. He was one of the 5,000,000, even though he is one of the few."

For the last four Saturdays, thousands of people have been taking to the streets of Belgrade under the slogan "One in Five Million," protesting against the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, including a large number of celebrities. Marko Nikolić was one of the opponents of the Serbian president, reports the Patria agency.
