Faculty of Islamic Sciences awarded diplomas to 60 graduates and master's students, including 13 hafizes

(Patria) - The Faculty of Islamic Sciences (FIN) in Sarajevo today held a formal award ceremony for master's and bachelor's graduates of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences for the academic year 2022/2023.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Administration for Education and Science of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Dževad Hodžić, professors of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, as well as the families and friends of the Faculty's graduates.

“Throughout these years, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences has made a significant contribution not only to the core mission of the Islamic Community but also to our people as a whole. At the same time, with its concept of openness, dialogue, and coexistence, it contributes to society as a whole,” said Director of the Administration for Education and Science, Prof. Dr. Dževad Hodžić, during the protocol.

As the envoy of the reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein-ef. Kavazović, Dr. Hodžić congratulated the graduates and the Faculty on their achievements.

“All of us in the Community are proud of the work of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. We want the Faculty to continue its concept of universalist and critical education, and for the Community to continue to provide support on that path,” said Dr. Hodžić.

This year, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences promoted a total of 60 master's and bachelor's students.
Diplomas for master's degrees were awarded to 22 students, three of whom are also hafizes of the Quran. Additionally, 38 bachelor's graduates were promoted, including 10 hafizes of the Quran.

“This is an exceptionally successful generation of graduates and master's students. They are the result of the joint work of the professors and staff of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, and we are proud of their successes. This is an opportunity to thank our colleagues for their dedicated work with the students, and also to thank you, the parents present, for entrusting us with your children. The educational process is an opportunity for us to contribute to our Community and society as a whole,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hasani. 

During his address, Dean Hasani also offered some advice to the graduates, stating that it is a special honor to hold a diploma from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.

“You are living in chaotic times. When we look at jobs today, we see that people avoid working with people and prefer to work with things. You are committed to working with people, and I have no doubt about your success,” said Dean Hasani.

This year, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences is, for the first time in its history, promoting a female student among its graduates who graduated with a perfect GPA of 10.00. This is hafiza Mubina Suljić Solo.

“Thank you for being completely and sincerely different in a sea of equals. It is an honor to receive this honorable recognition together with my colleagues, and this is also an opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to this today. This is a great and valuable recognition for me, and I am grateful to God Almighty for honoring me with this as a memento from my four years of study at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences,” said hafiza Suljić Solo. 

Along with her, three other students received the Golden Badge award: hafiz Hamdo Solo, Amina Bećar, and Umihana Šošić. 

This year, three students earned Silver Badges: Alija Mevkić, Amina Čutura Hodžić, and Amila Čilaš.
