Fajon: EP misused to promote particular interests in BiH

Tanja Fajon, Member of the European Parliament, said ahead of tomorrow's vote on the report on Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania that she regrets that the European Parliament has once again been misused to promote the particular interests of the Croatian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Fajon stated in a press release that she is convinced that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs unity and continuity in activities towards establishing more successful economic and social policies, not reopening old wounds and reviving nationalist rhetoric. She said she called on her colleagues from Croatia to refrain from using the parliament as a platform for imposing their national interests.

- This does not help BiH as a whole country, and it is contrary to the goal of this resolution - to help our Bosniak, Croatian, and Serb friends in BiH, to help all citizens of BiH - Fajon stated.

She added that she believes Bosnia and Herzegovina should be supported in its reform efforts in such a way that its citizens benefit from them, so that young people want to stay in their country and tackle the frequent departures of young people from the country, that Bosnia and Herzegovina adopts all necessary regulations to punish and eliminate corruption, that the rule of law becomes the rule, as opposed to the narrow interests of individuals, companies, or specific communities, reports NAP.
